Mentoring
As a therapist and life coach I am keenly aware that who I am today on a personal and professional level rests on the unwavering support and guidance from three individuals who were and still are my mentors. They are Erving Polster and wife Miriam (deceased) and Sonia Nevis.
With the assistance from mentors, students continue the learning and growth process that began at the time of training. Who we are and how we are determines how successfully we navigate meaningful connections assisting our clients and feel personally enriched from this dyadic process.
In addition, mentoring can be the ideal solution for the therapist/coach who would like to explore the following options.
- Build their practice to include post-recovery clients
- Learn to increase client base and expand coaching/therapy skills
- Gain confidence working with the addicted population and those beyond
- Gain respectability and recognition
As a coaching mentor, Helga can help you gain the skills you need to successfully expand your business and truly help you and your clients to create a more purposeful and joyful life.

"Your mentoring has helped me to become a fantastic psych/ substance abuse nurse. The lessons you've shared have not only been from the massive number of books you've read, and the remarkable training you have done, but lessons you have learned personally. I know that I have been privy to very personal moments in your life, and I know that you have used that sharing as teachable moments, not cries for sympathy.
I have always felt empowered by you, and always saw you empower our group and training members. And Never have I seen you take credit for what your clients and trainees accomplished. I know that I have always been safe under your tutelage. You respect the mind and soul of those you counsel and mentor, I have always felt valued by you Helga, and you have always managed to challenge without undermining, nudge when I felt scared, pushed when you know the groundwork has been done and I am ready and able to meet that challenge."
